ABVP Kicks Off Goa Meeting, Announces Nationwide Hostel Survey

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) started its two-day central working committee meeting in Goa on Saturday. Delegates gathered at Shri Damodar Sansthan in Zambaulim to tackle pressing student issues.

Focus on Campus Concerns and Hostel Conditions

On the opening day, discussions zeroed in on campus irregularities, unethical fee increases, and poor hostel conditions. National general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki highlighted these problems as major challenges for students across India.

Solanki emphasized Goa's importance, calling it both geographically and historically significant. He stated, "ABVP has raised serious concerns about irregularities in educational campuses nationwide. We are worried about unethical fee hikes and the state of hostels."

Nationwide Hostel Survey Campaign from February

To address these issues, ABVP will launch a "hostel survey campaign" across the country starting in February. This initiative aims to uncover ground realities and drive concrete interventions.

Solanki explained, "Through this campaign, we will bring the actual conditions to the forefront. Our goal is to take effective action based on the findings."

Record Membership and Meeting Inauguration

The meeting saw participation from 106 delegates. President Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, Virendra Singh Solanki, and organising secretary Ashish Chauhan inaugurated the session.

Solanki also shared impressive membership figures. In the 2025–26 academic session, ABVP enrolled 77,25,508 students. This marks the highest membership since the organization's expansion phase began.

The ABVP continues to focus on student welfare and campus reforms through such strategic meetings and campaigns.
