MCC Reopens NEET PG 2025 Round 3 Registration After Cut-Off Reduction
The Medical Counselling Committee has taken significant action for NEET PG 2025 aspirants. They have reopened the registration window for round three counselling. This decision follows a substantial reduction in qualifying cut-off percentiles announced earlier.
Revised Schedule for AIQ and State Quota Seats
MCC released a completely revised counselling schedule. The new timeline covers both all-India quota seats and state quota seats. Registration for round three of the AIQ counselling will remain open until January 26. The choice filling process also shares this same deadline.
Students can expect the round three seat allotment results on January 29. The committee confirmed there will be one additional online stray vacancy round after this. State counselling rounds have received similar date adjustments. The last date for joining round three state counselling seats is February 6.
New Eligibility Criteria Based on Reduced Cut-Offs
The counselling date changes directly respond to revised qualifying criteria. General category candidates now need only a 7th percentile score, which translates to 103 marks. This makes many more students eligible for the counselling process.
SC, ST, and OBC category candidates face even lower requirements. They qualify with a 0 percentile score, equivalent to -40 marks. Persons with benchmark disabilities need a 5th percentile score of 90 marks to participate.
Important Participation Rules for Candidates
MCC established clear guidelines for round three participants. Fresh registrants who receive no seat allotment remain eligible for stray or further rounds. However, candidates who secure a seat but choose not to join face serious consequences.
These students must exit the process with forfeiture of their security deposit. More importantly, they become completely ineligible for any further counselling rounds conducted by MCC or DGHS. The Directorate General of Health Services under the Health Ministry manages the online counselling for 50% AIQ postgraduate medical and dental seats.
All qualified candidates based on their NEET PG rank can participate in this counselling. The official mcc.nic.in website now hosts the revised schedule and detailed information brochure. This development marks a crucial phase in medical admissions for the current academic year.
