Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme Applications Close Today
The Indian Navy has set today as the closing date for online applications to its 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme. This scheme offers a Permanent Commission opportunity for eligible unmarried men and women. Candidates must submit their applications through the official recruitment portal joinindiannavy.gov.in before the window shuts.
Course Details and Vacancy Information
The entry is for a course starting in July 2026. Successful candidates will undergo a four-year B.Tech programme at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala. The Navy has notified 44 tentative vacancies for this scheme. These vacancies are for the Executive and Technical branches.
Women candidates have a special reservation in this scheme. Up to seven vacancies are reserved specifically for female applicants. This move aims to promote gender diversity within the naval forces.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
Applicants must meet strict nationality, age, educational, and medical standards set by the Government of India and the Indian Navy. The age requirement is particularly specific. Candidates must have been born between January 2, 2007 and July 1, 2009. Both dates are inclusive.
Educational qualifications are equally rigorous. Candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination or an equivalent from a recognized board. They need a minimum of 70 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Additionally, they must score at least 50 percent marks in English at either Class X or Class XII level.
Only candidates who appeared for the JEE MAIN 2025 exam are eligible to apply. Shortlisting will rely entirely on the JEE MAIN All India Common Rank List 2025. This rank list will determine who proceeds to the Service Selection Board interview stage.
Selection Process and Interview Details
Naval Headquarters will select candidates based on merit from the declared JEE-MAIN cut-off rank. Shortlisted candidates will attend SSB interviews scheduled from March 2026 onwards. These interviews will take place at four centers across India:
- Bangalore
- Bhopal
- Kolkata
- Visakhapatnam
Candidates will receive intimation about their SSB selection via email and SMS. The Navy does not permit changes to SSB centers or dates. First-time SSB attendees for this entry can claim AC three-tier rail fare.
Training Programme and Service Conditions
Selected candidates will join as cadets for the four-year B.Tech course. The Navy will assign branches between Executive and Technical based on service requirements. Technical branches include Engineering and Electrical specializations.
The B.Tech programme offers three engineering streams:
- Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering
