USTM offers scholarships to 50 Nagaland students

Dimapur: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has unveiled a comprehensive package of exclusive fellowships and scholarships aimed at 50 deserving students from Nagaland. This initiative is part of the university's student-centric outreach and educational empowerment efforts in the state.

Announcement at Press Conference

Making the announcement at a press conference here on Friday, USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque stated that 50 students from Nagaland would be selected for various categories of financial assistance based on their academic merit. The scheme is designed to support meritorious, deserving, and economically disadvantaged students from the state to pursue higher education.

Scholarship Categories

Of the 50 students, 10 outstanding students with exceptional results in their qualifying examinations—particularly state toppers and high achievers—will be awarded full scholarships covering their academic fees. Another 15 students will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver, while 25 students will get a monthly scholarship of Rs 2,000 to support their educational expenses, Hoque added.

He said fresh talented applicants from Nagaland may avail the scholarship scheme to pursue higher education at USTM without financial constraints. Applicants who secure a minimum of 80% marks in their qualifying examinations and fulfill the prescribed selection criteria of the university will be eligible for the scholarships.
