Students across the state now have until February 28 to submit their forms, providing additional time for those who have not yet applied.
Registration Numbers and Previous Extensions
So far, approximately 5.61 lakh students from schools throughout Gujarat have successfully registered for the scholarship examination. The application process originally commenced on February 5, with an initial closing date set for February 16. This was first extended to February 21, and now, in response to ongoing student needs, the board has granted a final extension to February 28.
Examination and Scholarship Details
The scholarship examination is scheduled to be conducted on April 4. Based on the merit list, a total of 25,000 students will be awarded scholarships. Financial assistance varies by school type:
- Students securing admissions to private schools will receive up to Rs 94,000 for their studies from Classes 9 to 12.
- Those enrolled in government and grant-in-aid schools will be granted scholarships of Rs 5,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively.
Additional Opportunities for Students
Beyond the scholarships, this examination opens doors to other educational opportunities. Eligible Class 8 students from private schools may secure admission to 25% of 65 vacant seats at Raksha Shakti School. Additionally, admissions to Class 9 in Adarsh Residential Schools will also be determined based on the results of this examination.
The board's decision to extend the deadline reflects its commitment to ensuring that all eligible students have a fair chance to apply, thereby supporting educational advancement across Gujarat.
