Kerala Pioneers AI-Integrated Free Entrance Coaching for Public School Students
In a groundbreaking educational initiative, the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has launched the latest phase of its 'Key to Entrance' special training program, now enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI). This program is available to all higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students in the state's public schools, marking the first time a state government in India provides free entrance coaching across all academic streams using AI technology.
Comprehensive Support for 8 Lakh Students
The AI-driven initiative is designed to assist approximately 8 lakh students from science, commerce, and humanities streams in excelling at various competitive examinations. These include key tests such as the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Common University Entrance Test (CUET), CA Foundation, and various Public Service Commission (PSC) exams. By leveraging AI, KITE aims to democratize access to quality coaching, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds can compete effectively.
Personalized Learning Through AI Technology
KITE CEO K Anvar Sadath highlighted that the AI system, implemented via the 'Samagra AI Learning Room,' generates personalized study plans tailored to each student's learning pace and exam performance. The system meticulously analyzes progress from every test taken by a student, offering question sets across three proficiency levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Excellent. This adaptive approach ensures that students receive content suited to their specific aptitude, enhancing their preparation efficiency.
In addition to AI-driven features, the portal hosts over 20,000 questions that have been verified by expert teachers. Training is available for a wide range of subjects, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology, economics, accountancy, business studies, and political science. The second phase of the program, starting on February 25, will expand to include training in English, reasoning, and general awareness, further broadening the curriculum.
Extensive Mock Tests and Practical Experience
Recognizing the importance of practical experience for competitive exams, KITE has arranged extensive mock tests on the portal for self-practice. These tests simulate real exam conditions, helping students build confidence and improve their time management skills. The portal's resources are designed to complement traditional classroom learning, providing a holistic preparation environment.
Accessibility and Implementation
To ensure widespread participation, schools have been directed to disseminate information about the training through all levels, including Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs). Students in classes 11 and 12 can access these services via the portal www.entrance.kite.kerala.gov.in using login details provided by their schools. The user ID is the student's higher secondary or vocational higher secondary application number, which is already available on the portal, with passwords generated by principals or nodal teachers.
Detailed user guides and video tutorials are provided on the portal to assist students in navigating the system. Additionally, beyond the classes aired on the KITE VICTERS channel, students can watch sessions at any time through the entrance portal and the KITE VICTERS YouTube channel, offering flexibility for those with varying schedules.
Inclusive Support for Digital Access
In an effort to bridge the digital divide, school principals are instructed to provide necessary facilities within schools for students who lack personal digital devices or internet access. This ensures that all interested students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, can benefit from the program, aligning with Kerala's commitment to inclusive education.
