Odisha Class X HSC Results Slated for May Release as Evaluation Process Intensifies

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha has confirmed that the results for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination for Class X will be officially declared in the month of May. This announcement follows the successful conclusion of the examinations, which wrapped up on March 2, with an impressive registration of approximately 5,61,997 students participating this year.

Two-Phase Evaluation Strategy Ensures Accuracy and Fairness

In a meticulous approach to assessment, the evaluation process is being conducted in two distinct phases: objective and subjective evaluation. Currently, the objective evaluation of OMR answer sheets is actively underway, setting the stage for the next critical phase.

Starting from March 19, the subjective evaluation will commence, involving a massive workforce of 15,000 dedicated teachers. These educators have been strategically assigned roles as chief examiners, deputy chief examiners, assistant examiners, and scrutinisers to ensure a thorough and impartial review of answer sheets.

Each evaluator is tasked with checking between 25 to 35 answer sheets per day, maintaining a steady pace to meet the tight deadline. BSE president Srikant Tarai emphasized that all necessary measures are in place to facilitate a smooth and error-free evaluation process.

Statewide Evaluation Centres Under Strict Vigilance

To manage this extensive operation, the BSE has established 51 evaluation centres spread across the state of Odisha. These facilities are under strict vigilance to uphold the integrity and transparency of the evaluation process. Tarai assured stakeholders that every step is being taken to conduct the evaluations efficiently, with results targeted for release by the first or second week of May.

Typically, the evaluation of answer sheets spans 10 to 12 days, but this year's efforts are bolstered by the engagement of a total of 70,000 personnel, including both teaching and non-teaching staff, who were involved in the HSC examination from start to finish.

Incident-Free Examinations Highlight Success

This year's HSC, along with the Madhyama and State Open School Certificate examinations, were notably incident-free, with no reported cases of malpractice. Tarai noted that while minor irregularities occurred during the distribution of question papers at some examination centres, these issues were promptly resolved at the centres themselves, ensuring minimal disruption.

Students completed their examinations at 3,082 centres across the state, contributing to a seamless and orderly conduct of the exams. The BSE's proactive measures and robust evaluation framework aim to deliver timely and accurate results, supporting the academic futures of thousands of students in Odisha.
