Tragic Motorbike Accident Claims Lives of Two BPharma Students in Dehradun

In a devastating incident on Tuesday, two first-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma) students from a private university in Dehradun lost their lives after their motorbike collided with a roadside tree in the Rajpur area. According to police reports, the accident occurred due to speeding and loss of control.

Details of the Fatal Crash

The victims have been identified as Dev Kumar, aged 22 and originally from Bihar, who was riding the bike, and Pronit Biswas, aged 19 and a native of Nagaland, who was riding pillion. Police stated that the motorbike was traveling at high speed when it veered onto the wrong side of the road before striking the tree.

Rajpur Station House Officer (SHO) Pradeep Pant provided further insights, noting that the two students were residing in rented accommodation in Rajpur while attending their college located on Mussoorie Road. "Passers-by spotted the injured students at the scene and immediately alerted the police. They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment," SHO Pant explained.

Medical Response and Aftermath

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors declared Dev Kumar dead on arrival. Pronit Biswas was admitted and received medical care but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later. Police officials promptly informed the families of both students about the tragic event.

"The family members of the deceased students arrived in Dehradun on Wednesday. After the completion of the postmortem examination, the bodies were handed over to them for last rites," SHO Pradeep Pant added, highlighting the procedural steps taken following the accident.
