WBSSC Declares Results for 23,212 Class 9-10 Teacher Posts
WBSSC Announces Class 9-10 Teacher Recruitment Results

The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has officially announced the outcomes of the recruitment examination for assistant teacher positions in state-run and aided schools for classes 9 and 10. This significant recruitment drive aims to fill 23,212 teaching vacancies across the state.

Examination Details and Result Declaration

The written examination for these positions was conducted on September 7, 2025, attracting substantial participation from aspiring educators. According to commission officials, the results were made available to candidates through multiple channels on Monday, November 24, 2025.

The primary platform for accessing results remains the official WBSSC website, where candidates can check their status using their roll number and date of birth. Additionally, the commission established a dedicated helpline service that became operational in the evening hours to assist candidates with result inquiries.

Political Recognition and Next Steps

Following the result announcement, West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu took to social media platform X to acknowledge the achievement. In his message, he credited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's guidance and the cooperation of state and district administration for the timely declaration of results.

However, the recruitment process is far from complete. A senior WBSSC official clarified that the verification process for successful candidates from classes 9-10 recruitment will commence only after completing the recruitment verification for classes 11 and 12 positions.

Broader Recruitment Context and Statistics

The current recruitment drive represents a crucial rebuilding effort for West Bengal's education sector. The examination witnessed massive participation with 293,192 candidates appearing for tests across 11 different subjects.

An interesting development noted by officials involves the success of many teachers who lost their positions following the Supreme Court's April 3 ruling that invalidated 25,753 previous appointments. These educators, deemed "untainted" from the 2016 SSC test controversy, have now cleared the fresh examination.

The commission has indicated that the number of available vacancies might increase when the revised list is published ahead of interview and document verification stages. Candidates can expect the list of those selected for interviews to be released in the first week of December.

This recruitment forms part of the larger effort to fill 35,657 assistant teacher vacancies across classes 9-12 through the second state-level selection test. The commission had previously published candidate lists for 12,445 vacancies in classes 11 and 12, for which the written examination was held on September 14.
