Veteran Bollywood actor Boman Irani is set to bring a dramatic shift in the upcoming Telugu horror comedy film, 'The Raja Saab'. Director Maruthi has shared intriguing new details about Irani's pivotal role, promising an unexpected turn for the Prabhas-starrer.
Maruthi Reveals Boman Irani's Transformative Character
In the fourth episode of the "Legacy of The Raja Saab" series shared on the film's official X (formerly Twitter) handle, director Maruthi provided key insights. He confirmed that Boman Irani plays a psychiatrist in the narrative, a character designed to alter the movie's core atmosphere.
"Another important character in the film is Boman Irani’s. His makeover will be different, as seen in the trailer," Maruthi stated. He elaborated on the creative vision, saying, "From the beginning, the thought was that as his character arrives, there should be a change in the tone from a horror comedy to an unimaginable turn."
A Performance That Captivates
The director heaped praise on Irani's dedication and craft. Maruthi revealed that after hearing the narration, the seasoned actor from '3 Idiots' completely understood and owned the role. Demonstrating his commitment, Boman Irani delivered his dialogues in both Telugu and Hindi for the film.
Maruthi expressed strong confidence in Irani's screen presence, noting that actors of his caliber possess the power to mesmerize audiences. "In this film, he will be there for 15-16 minutes. As long as he is there, you will definitely feel captivated by his acting," the director assured fans.
Plot Dynamics and Star-Studded Cast
The previously released trailer offers glimpses of the complex interplay between characters. Boman Irani's psychiatrist is seen explaining Sanjay Dutt's character to Prabhas. Dutt's role is described as a powerful figure skilled in magic, hypnosis, and psychology. A more recent trailer portrays Sanjay Dutt as a menacing entity haunting a mansion that Prabhas's character appears to have inherited.
The film's release is set for a major box office clash, scheduled for January 9. It will go head-to-head with Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film, 'Jana Nayagan'. This sets the stage for an exciting showdown at the cinemas early next year.
With Maruthi at the helm and a powerhouse cast including Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, and the scene-stealing Boman Irani, 'The Raja Saab' promises a unique blend of horror and comedy, punctuated by a dramatic tonal shift orchestrated by Irani's pivotal performance.
