Chanchlani Responds to Backlash Over Filtered Content
Content creator Ashish Chanchlani has come to the defense of comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina after some viewers criticized the second season of India's Got Latent, calling it 'too filtered' and claiming it had lost the charm of its earlier episodes. The first episode of Season 2, featuring Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, premiered on June 20 and sparked widespread discussions on social media. While many fans celebrated the show's return, others expressed disappointment, feeling the new season appeared more restrained than before.
Legal Battle and Behind-the-Scenes Struggles
Reacting to the criticism, Chanchlani took to Instagram Stories to remind viewers of the challenges faced by the show's team over the past year. He wrote, 'For people saying latent is too filtered or has lost its charm and shit.. Just remember we had to fight a year long legal battle where we promised to stay in line and make sure history doesnt repeat itself.' The influencer, who was also embroiled in the controversy surrounding the show in 2025, emphasized that bringing the series back was far from easy. Highlighting Samay Raina's efforts, he added, 'It was almost an uncertainty that this show will come back. But somehow @maisamayhoon made sure he brings it back for yall. He has fought countless battles behind the scenes. It was an uphill almost impossible pipe dream for S2 to even exist.'
Call for Support Amid Divided Opinions
Urging fans to support the comedian and the show, Chanchlani concluded, 'Kabhi kabhi kuch cheeze karni padti hai.. So please Support karo usko aur enjoy karo.' His remarks offer a glimpse into the reportedly intense behind-the-scenes challenges that preceded the second season's return. While opinions on the new format remain divided, the show's comeback has continued to generate significant attention online, with many viewers acknowledging the efforts required to bring it back despite legal hurdles.
