Janhvi Kapoor shares RRR stars' global fame at US airports

Janhvi Kapoor is all set to appear in the upcoming sports action drama 'Peddi', co-starring Ram Charan. Ahead of the film's release, the actress shared an intriguing experience from her international travels. She revealed how people outside India often identify Indian cinema through Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and the blockbuster film 'RRR'.

Janhvi Kapoor talks about her airport experience

In a conversation with IANS, the 'Devara' actress disclosed that during a recent trip to America, she observed the immense popularity of Ram Charan and 'RRR' worldwide. She mentioned that even immigration officers at airports frequently bring up the names of Ram Charan and Jr NTR upon learning she is an actress. Sharing her experience, Janhvi said, “I was just in America recently, and I have to tell everyone that the reference point for Indians right now is you. Even at immigration, they ask, ‘Are you an actor?’ and I say, ‘Yes, I am an actor.’ Then they go like, ‘Oh yes, RRR… Ram Charan… NTR,’ and I’m like, ‘Sure!’”

'RRR' global recognition

Released in 2022, 'RRR', directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, achieved massive global success and international critical acclaim. The song 'Naatu Naatu' also won the Best Original Song at the 95th Oscars. Speaking of 'Peddi', the film marks Janhvi Kapoor's second Telugu outing and interestingly has a connection with the 'RRR' star cast, as her first project was the Jr NTR starrer 'Devara', where she played the female lead.
