Jayaram reveals Sakshi Dhoni touched his feet at IPL match

Malayalam actor Jayaram recently opened up about an emotional encounter with MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi Dhoni during a promotional event for his upcoming film Parimalam and Co. The incident occurred when he traveled to Chennai to watch an Indian Premier League (IPL) match featuring the Chennai Super Kings.

Sakshi Dhoni's unexpected gesture

Jayaram revealed that while seated in the stadium, he noticed Sakshi Dhoni walking nearby. He quietly pointed her out to the person next to him, mentioning that she was Dhoni's wife. However, to his surprise, Sakshi approached him directly. According to the Reporter Live website, Sakshi ran towards him and touched his feet, leaving him completely shocked. She also told him she was a huge admirer of his work. Jayaram admitted he was initially confused, wondering if she had mistaken him for someone else.

Sharing the incident during an interview, Jayaram said, "The incident happened about a week ago. I had gone to Chennai to watch an IPL match. While I was sitting in my seat, I saw Dhoni's wife Sakshi walking by. I quietly told the person sitting next to me that it was Dhoni's wife. But in reality, she was actually coming towards me. She came running from a distance and touched my feet. She said she was a huge fan of mine."

Ziva Dhoni's connection to Jayaram's song

Jayaram further explained how Sakshi Dhoni knew him and his work so well. One of Sakshi's close Malayali friends had introduced his films and songs to the family. The actor revealed that Dhoni and Sakshi's daughter Ziva Dhoni used to regularly listen to the Malayalam song "Ambalappuzha Unnikannanodu Nee". The family friend often sang the song for Ziva during her childhood.

Recalling the emotional moment, the actor said, "I was completely shocked. For a moment, I wondered whether she had mistaken me for someone else and touched my feet by accident. But she knew exactly who I was. One of her close Malayali friends used to regularly sing the song 'Ambalappuzha Unnikannanodu Nee' from my film for Dhoni and Sakshi's daughter Ziva. Their daughter used to fall asleep listening to that song." The actor shared that hearing this deeply touched him.
