Salman Khan's Secret Act of Kindness Revealed

Salman Khan, known for his philanthropic work, quietly cleared all pending medical bills for actor Rahul Roy after Roy suffered a brain stroke in November 2020. The gesture only came to light years later when Roy himself disclosed it in an interview with Bollywood Hungama.

The Stroke and Financial Crisis

Rahul Roy, best known for his role in the 1990 hit 'Aashiqui', suffered a brain stroke on November 29, 2020, while filming 'LAC – Live the Battle' in Kargil. The medical emergency led to staggering financial strain, with hospital bills piling up at Wockhardt Hospital and later Nanavati Hospital, where he underwent angiography and was shifted to the ICU for recovery.

Salman Khan Steps In

In the interview, Roy revealed that Salman Khan cleared all his pending hospital bills without any public announcement. Roy said, "Sab kehte hain Salman ye hai, woh hai… mere liye woh bohat acche hain" (People say this and that about Salman Khan… but for me, he is a gem of a person). He also noted that the two had known each other for a long time, having worked together in the 1996 film 'Majhdhaar'.

Sister Hari Maa Praises Salman

Roy's sister, Hari Maa (formerly Priyanka Roy), also praised Khan's actions, stating, "The most beautiful thing is Salman did not speak about it in front of the media. This touched my heart. This man is a gem. Somebody out of the whole crowd comes and asks in reality if you are actually in trouble and helps you. This is called being a star. Not just being a star in front of the camera."

Details of the Financial Help

According to Roy and his sister, a part of the bill was cleared by the director of 'LAC', but a significant amount remained. Salman Khan stepped in and cleared all pending bills without any hesitation or expectation of reward. This act of kindness allowed Roy to recover without the added stress of financial burden.

A Long-Standing Friendship

Salman Khan and Rahul Roy have known each other for decades, having co-starred in 'Majhdhaar' in 1996. Roy fondly recalled their shared memories, emphasizing that Khan's support during his medical crisis was a testament to their enduring friendship.
