Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reveals Daily 100g Protein Intake at Just 50 kg Weight
Samantha Ruth Prabhu: 100g Protein Daily at 50 kg

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, widely recognized for her roles in 'Arya' and 'Yashoda,' has always been a fitness and clean eating enthusiast. In a podcast interview with nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary, she revealed she has been eating the recommended amount of protein every day and how her approach to food has evolved over the years, particularly since her health diagnosis transformed her.

Daily Protein Intake Revelation

Speaking with Rashi Chowdhary, Samantha shared a number that surprised many listeners, saying, "I take 100 grams of protein and I am 50 kg." It reflects just how deliberate she has become about what goes into her meals every single day, a shift that traces back to a much bigger story about her health.

Myositis Diagnosis Changed Everything

Samantha's relationship with food was not always this disciplined. In a separate conversation with celebrity nutrition coach Ryan Fernando, she opened up about her teenage years, admitting she used to eat whatever she wanted without much thought because weight gain was never really a concern for her back then. That changed completely after she was diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune condition that causes the immune system to attack the body's own muscles. It was a diagnosis that changed her entire attitude toward food, making it no longer a casual thing. It was something directly related to the way her body worked and healed.

Eating for Healing, Not Just for Habit

Once diagnosed, Samantha has now turned to an "anti-inflammatory" diet, which is based on what truly fuels her body and not the popular diet that is generally deemed healthy. She has expressed a desire to talk about this transition as one that is personal, not idealistic, or about maintaining a chronic state instead of aiming for a specific body image.

Inside Her Kitchen: Staples and Surprising No's

Samantha also gave us a window into her regular grocery store, and she is using cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts in her daily meals, in addition to healthy fats like cold-pressed oils and ghee. In addition, her diet has many anti-inflammatory ingredients like turmeric, celery and acai berries. Interestingly, she has cut out gluten completely, and even revealed that some foods generally considered superfoods simply do not agree with her body, admitting, "Spinach and kale don't suit me."

Strength Training and Movement as Part of Recovery

As reported by Ryan Fernando's Health Shotzz podcast platform, Samantha trains four to five times a week as part of her ongoing recovery, guided by how her body feels on any given day rather than chasing a fixed routine. She has been working on strength training, breathing, yoga, functional movement and has been very careful to rebuild muscle and stability after her diagnosis with the guidance of experts. She trains in yoga, weight lifting, Pilates and cardio, and yoga is what she uses to strengthen her core and achieve balance.
