Malayalam actor Santhosh Nair passed away following a tragic road accident in Pathanamthitta district. The incident took place at Enathu when the car he was traveling in collided with a lorry. His wife, Shubhashree, sustained injuries in the crash. While undergoing treatment, the actor suffered a heart attack and later succumbed to his condition. The lorry driver was also injured, according to Manorama Online.

Santhosh Nair began his acting career with the 1982 film 'Ithu Njangalude Katha'. Over the years, he appeared in more than 100 films, portraying a wide range of roles including villains, lead characters, supporting parts, and comedic roles. He was known for his versatility and dedication to the craft.
Early Life and Background
Born on November 12, 1960, in Thiruvananthapuram, Santhosh Kesavan Nayar grew up in an educated family. His father, C. N. Kesavan Nair, was a retired headmaster, and his mother, P. Rajalakshmiamma, was a retired teacher. He spent his early years in Pettah with his two sisters. After his parents moved to Ethiopia, he was raised by his maternal grandparents. He completed his schooling at St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School and later pursued higher studies in mathematics at Mahatma Gandhi College.
During his college days, Santhosh Nair was actively involved in politics. While his sisters became gynaecologists, he chose acting as his career path, a decision that led to a successful and enduring presence in Malayalam cinema.
Final Film 'Mohiniyattam'
Santhosh Nair's most recent film, 'Mohiniyattam', is currently running in theatres. The film now stands as his final on-screen appearance. 'Bharathanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam', starring Saiju Kurup, is preparing for its digital release. The film hit theatres on April 10 and serves as a sequel to Bharathanatyam (2024). It will begin streaming on Netflix from May 8.
