Do's and Don'ts of Mohini Ekadashi
Do's
- Wake up early: Rise early in the morning and clean your house, especially the puja room.
- Take a bath: Bathe with normal water after cleaning.
- Visit a temple: Devotees should visit the Lakshmi Narayan temple to seek blessings of Lord Vishnu.
- Worship Lord Vishnu: Place an idol on a wooden plank, light a diya with desi ghee, chant mantras, and recite Vishnu Sahasranama.
- Engage in spiritual activities: Participate in religious activities to seek blessings.
- Fast breaking ritual: Break the fast only during parana time after worshipping Lord Vishnu. Donate fruits, clothes, and water to Brahmins after parana.
Don'ts
- Maintain celibacy: Observe celibacy while fasting.
- Avoid tamasik food: Abstain from onion, garlic, and non-vegetarian food. Touching or preparing such food is also prohibited.
- Avoid talking ill: Do not speak ill of others, avoid aggression, and control negative behavior.
- No alcohol or gambling: These are prohibited as they contradict purity and self-control.
Types of Fasts
