Ahmedabad experienced a scorching Sunday as the maximum temperature soared to 41.5 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees above the seasonal average. This follows a high of 40 degrees Celsius recorded on Saturday. The minimum temperature on Sunday settled at 23.8 degrees Celsius, a significant 4.3 degrees below normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
IMD Forecast for Monday and Beyond
The IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad on Monday will likely hover around 41 degrees Celsius. At 8:30 am on Sunday, the relative humidity in the city was 64 percent. For the state of Gujarat, the forecast indicates no major change in maximum temperatures over the next three days, followed by a gradual decline of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Relief Expected from Tuesday
According to the IMD, temperatures are expected to drop below 40 degrees Celsius from Tuesday as pre-monsoon activities commence over the region. The forecast suggests chances of thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall in several parts of the state starting Monday.

Moderate thunderstorms with lightning are likely in parts of Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Chhota Udepur districts. Light to moderate showers are expected in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, and Tapi districts.

Most places in Gujarat recorded maximum temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius or below. However, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Surendranagar reported highs of 41.5 degrees Celsius, while Vallabh Vidyanagar reached 41.1 degrees Celsius.
