Chennai: A 41-year-old IT employee died by suicide at his residence in Kundrathur on Thursday night. The deceased, Selva Sekar, was working as a software professional at a private IT firm in Chennai.
Financial Burden Leads to Tragic End
Police said he availed multiple loans from banks and private lenders to build a new house, but was struggling to repay the EMIs and interest. Unable to cope with the financial strain, he died by suicide, said police.
Discovery and Investigation
On Friday morning, his family members broke open his door when he wasn't responding, and found him dead. Kundrathur police sent the body to Tambaram Govt Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered. Police are investigating whether there were any other reasons behind the incident.
