Kajitha, daughter of Israbi, hails from Kolkata. She was traveling with her family at the time of the incident. Israbi, his wife, and their three daughters had arrived from Bengaluru. They were on their way to visit relatives in Thally.
The family waited at the Hosur bus stand for a bus to Thally. Kajitha's mother, who does not speak the local language, was inquiring about the correct bus. During this confusion, Kajitha wandered away from her family.
Bus Driver Fails to Notice the Child
The young girl stood in front of a government bus bound for Chennai. The bus driver did not see her. He started the vehicle and hit the back of her leg. The bus then ran over her limb.
"The driver stopped the bus immediately after hearing the girl's screams," explained a police officer from the Hosur city station. "But the damage was already severe. Her flesh was completely torn, and her bone fractured."
