Kanpur District Administration Celebrates International Women's Day with Awards and Recognition

In a vibrant event held on Sunday to mark International Women's Day, the district administration in Kanpur felicitated numerous girls and women for their outstanding performances across various sectors. The ceremony, which took place at the Government Children's Home in Swarup Nagar, highlighted the achievements of female participants in education and professional fields, underscoring the community's commitment to gender equality and empowerment.

Incentives and Honors for Educational Excellence

As part of the celebrations, incentives were provided to girls who demonstrated exceptional performance in education within the Kanpur Nagar district. This initiative falls under the central government's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, aimed at promoting the welfare and education of girls. Additionally, girls selected under state-level programs such as the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Bal Seva Yojana were honored with certificates for their accomplishments.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including MLA Kalyanpur Neelima Katiyar, State Women Commission member Poonam Dwivedi, Chief Development Officer Diksha Jain, Deputy Director Puneet Kumar Mishra, District Program Officer Preeti, District Probation Officer Vikas Singh, and Disha Arora, director of the Achintya Foundation and a noted social worker.
