Ambala's 100-Bed ESIC Hospital Cleared, Land Allotment by Dec 16
100-Bed ESIC Hospital in Ambala Cantonment Approved

In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure for industrial workers, Haryana's Labour Minister Anil Vij has announced the final clearance for a long-awaited, modern 100-bed Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital in Ambala Cantonment. The minister declared this facility would act as a crucial "lifeline" for thousands of insured workers and their families, providing them with high-quality and easily accessible medical services.

Land Allotment and Construction Timeline

Minister Vij provided a clear roadmap for the project's commencement. He stated that the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has been directed to issue the formal land allotment letter by December 16, 2023. The designated site is located in Sector 33 (part-1) of Ambala Cantonment. The letter will include all necessary cost details. Following the issuance, ESIC will promptly make the land payment and begin construction work without any further delay.

Direct Benefit for Ambala's Industrial Workforce

Highlighting the strategic importance of the hospital's location, Vij emphasized that it would directly serve the dense population of insured workers in Ambala Cantonment and the neighbouring Saha industrial belt. He described the project as a major achievement not just for Ambala but for adjoining districts as well. "This hospital marks a significant step towards delivering timely, patient-centric healthcare to the insured community of Ambala," the minister said.

To fast-track the proposal, Vij confirmed he is personally coordinating with the Union government and other concerned departments. The project's urgency was underscored in a recent high-level meeting chaired by the Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India. Here, the long-pending land allotment issue was prioritized for resolution on the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) portal.

Comprehensive Medical Services Planned

The upcoming state-of-the-art hospital is designed to offer a wide range of advanced medical departments. The services will include:

  • General Medicine and Surgery
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Paediatrics
  • Orthopaedics
  • ENT, Ophthalmology, and Dermatology
  • Psychiatry
  • 24/7 Emergency Care

Reiterating his commitment to workers' welfare, Minister Anil Vij said, "My priority has always been that no worker should wander in search of medical care." He added that the government is determined to ensure people in Ambala Cantonment do not suffer due to inadequate health facilities. The hospital is expected to provide relief to both the industrial workforce and the general public.

Vij expressed confidence that once the land formalities are completed, construction will progress rapidly. He assured that the hospital will be dedicated to the public within a stipulated timeframe. The project reflects the combined commitment of both the Central and State governments to strengthen healthcare services and improve welfare infrastructure for insured workers across the region.
