Ludhiana Polio Drive June 28: 5 Lakh Children Target

Ludhiana District Task Force Meets to Finalise Polio Drive Plans

The district task force for the upcoming national pulse polio immunisation round convened a meeting in Ludhiana on Wednesday, chaired by Payal Goyal, Assistant Commissioner (General), and Dr Ramandeep Kaur, Civil Surgeon. The meeting reviewed arrangements for the campaign, which aims to cover nearly 4.9 lakh children under five years of age across the district.

Campaign Schedule and Infrastructure

The pulse polio drive will run from June 28 to July 2. On June 28, children will receive polio drops at designated booths, followed by intensive house-to-house visits to reach those missed. The campaign will continue for three days in rural areas and five days in urban and semi-urban areas, ensuring every eligible child receives the vaccine.

The Health Department has planned an extensive network comprising 632 polio booths and 438 sub-booths. A total of 1,535 house-to-house teams, 80 transit teams, and 98 mobile teams have been deployed. In addition, 506 supervisors will monitor the campaign for effective implementation.
