Chennai Man Dies in Third Suicide Attempt: A Tragic Tale of Mental Stress
Chennai man dies in third suicide attempt from Ambattur flyover

A 35-year-old man from Chennai tragically ended his life on Tuesday night by jumping from a flyover in the Ambattur area. This distressing incident marks the third time the individual had attempted suicide since the year 2015, according to information provided by the local police.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The deceased has been identified as Saravanan, who was a resident of Vinayagapuram in Kolathur. He was the son of 64-year-old Manoharan, a retired government employee. Saravanan was employed at a private company located in Ambattur. The fatal jump occurred from the Inner Ring Road flyover near Gnanamoorthy Nagar.

Following the incident, police officials arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a postmortem examination. During their initial inquiry, investigators uncovered a history of profound mental anguish. Saravanan had been suffering from mental stress for a prolonged period.

A History of Previous Attempts

Police records indicate this was not his first attempt to take his own life. In a previous incident about six months ago, Saravanan had sustained injuries, including a leg fracture, after jumping from the second floor of his house. Despite these clear cries for help, no suicide note was found at the scene of Tuesday's tragedy.
