6-month wait for ultrasound at Rewari Civil Hospital irks panel

The Vidhan Sabha committee on Friday expressed strong displeasure over a six-month waiting period for ultrasound examinations at the Rewari Civil Hospital. Committee Chairman and Rewari MLA Laxman Singh Yadav called the delay unacceptable and demanded immediate action to ensure timely testing.

Committee Inspection

Chairman Yadav led a team comprising Bawal MLA Dr Krishan Kumar, Hodal MLA Harender Singh, Meham MLA Balram Dangi, and Nalwa MLA Randhir Panihar. The panel inspected the Civil Hospital, Indira Gandhi University at Meerpur, and the Government Girls College.

Infrastructure Issues

Civil Hospital Principal Medical Officer Dr Surender Yadav informed that the foot overbridge connecting the hospital to the Trauma Centre remains closed due to a damaged roof. Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena summoned the PWD Executive Engineer and ordered repairs within a week.

Other Recommendations

The committee chairman suggested relocating the drug de-addiction centre to the new building. Bawal MLA Dr Krishan Kumar recommended building the mortuary near the new building's gate. MLA Dangi emphasized conducting most tests at the hospital, while MLA Harender Singh insisted on maintaining a full stock of medicines.

University Inspection

While inspecting Indira Gandhi University, Chairman Yadav stressed adherence to UGC guidelines and mandatory biometric attendance for all employees.
