The family of Dharmendra Darbar, a 29-year-old resident of Mehsana, decided to donate his liver and two kidneys after he was declared brain-dead by doctors at Civil Hospital on Thursday.
Accident and Treatment
Darbar, who worked as a driver, met with a severe accident near Kadi on May 4. He was immediately shifted to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was later declared brain-dead.
Organ Donation Statistics
According to Civil Hospital officials, the hospital has received a total of 794 organs and 238 tissues from 240 organ donors over the past six years. This highlights the growing awareness and importance of organ donation in the region.
The donated organs from Darbar will be transplanted to patients in need, giving them a new lease on life. The family's decision has been widely praised by medical staff and the community.
