Mehsana Man's Organs Donated After Brain Death

The family of Dharmendra Darbar, a 29-year-old resident of Mehsana, decided to donate his liver and two kidneys after he was declared brain-dead by doctors at Civil Hospital on Thursday.

Accident and Treatment

Darbar, who worked as a driver, met with a severe accident near Kadi on May 4. He was immediately shifted to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was later declared brain-dead.

Organ Donation Statistics

According to Civil Hospital officials, the hospital has received a total of 794 organs and 238 tissues from 240 organ donors over the past six years. This highlights the growing awareness and importance of organ donation in the region.
