Trichy: The Trichy railway division has implemented special passenger facilitation measures, train service augmentation, operational monitoring, and crowd management arrangements to assist candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 on Sunday.
Examination Centres and Expected Rush
NEET examination centres falling under the Trichy division are located in Ariyalur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Vellore, Karaikal, and Puducherry areas. Anticipating increased passenger movement of candidates and their accompanying parents or guardians, special arrangements have been made.
Help Desks and Information Booths
Dedicated NEET help desks and helpline booths on platform number one at Trichy and other major railway stations will be set up. These help desks will provide information on train connectivity, local transportation facilities, examination centre access, and other passenger-related assistance. Public announcements will be made to facilitate hassle-free travel.
Special Train Operations
Special train operations have been planned, including one between Chennai Egmore and Kanyakumari for the onward and return movement of candidates, based on operational approval.
Coaches will be augmented in some trains based on demand and operational feasibility, such as Thanjavur – Chennai Egmore Uzhavan Express and Karaikal – Chennai Egmore Express.
