Prayagraj: Ahead of International Yoga Day, the 137 Composite Ecological Task Force Battalion (Territorial Army) and 39 GR (Ganga Task Force) organized a special yoga session and water conservation awareness campaign at McPherson Lake on Thursday. The initiative aimed to inspire people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through yoga, as well as to create awareness about the cleanliness and conservation of water bodies.
Joint Responsibility for Clean Water Bodies
Territorial Army officers emphasized that keeping water bodies free from pollution is not only the responsibility of the administration but also of every citizen. Information was also provided on various efforts being made for the rejuvenation of water bodies.
Revival of McPherson Lake
McPherson Lake, once a major attraction and important water source of Prayagraj, started losing its natural identity over time due to increasing settlements around it and pollution. Currently, the Territorial Army is striving for its conservation, cleanliness, and revival, so that it can once again be developed as a clean, beautiful, and environmentally rich water body.
This initiative, which combines yoga and environmental protection, conveyed the message that a healthy body and a clean environment together create a strong and prosperous society.
