Zirakpur School Hosts International Yoga Day Event

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, K-Area, Zirakpur, celebrated the International Day of Yoga with a special programme on June 28, 2026. The event featured eminent yogacharya Ram Pratap as the chief guest, who holds postgraduate degrees in yoga, Sanskrit, and philosophy and has been promoting yoga and public welfare for nearly two decades. He is currently associated with the Brahmrishi Yoga Training Institute, contributing significantly to yoga and Indian philosophy.

The programme was coordinated by Ravi Kumar (yoga teacher) and Ashok (PGT, physical education). Around 700 students and teachers enthusiastically participated in the yoga session, which included various asanas and pranayama exercises.

Event Highlights and Chief Guest Address

The event began with a green welcome for the chief guest by school Principal Pushpa Sharma. In his address, Ram Pratap delivered an inspiring message on the importance of yoga, a healthy lifestyle, and mental well-being. All students and faculty members joined the yoga session with enthusiasm.

The programme aimed to raise awareness about yoga and inspire students to lead healthy and balanced lives. It concluded with a vote of thanks from Rajendra Kumar (PGT, Hindi), who expressed gratitude to the chief guest and extended best wishes to all participants on the International Day of Yoga.
