In a significant move to solidify its presence in India's rapidly expanding prestige beauty sector, The Estee Lauder Companies has announced the acquisition of full ownership of Forest Essentials, the renowned Indian skincare brand. This transaction marks the culmination of a partnership that began in 2008 when Estee Lauder first invested in the company.

The American beauty giant did not disclose the financial details of the deal, but confirmed that it is anticipated to finalize in the second half of 2026. Upon completion, this acquisition will elevate India to become Estee Lauder's largest emerging market globally. The company highlighted India's dynamic consumer landscape as a key driver behind this strategic decision.

A young, affluent demographic, coupled with rising disposable incomes and an increasing number of women entering the workforce who are eager to explore new beauty products, has transformed India into a hotbed for both international and domestic beauty brands. Founded in 2000 by Mira Kulkarni, Forest Essentials will continue to be headquartered in New Delhi and maintain its operational ecosystem within India. For the Indian brand, this deal provides unparalleled access to global markets through Estee Lauder's extensive network spanning 150 countries.
