Worms Found in Milk at Vijayawada's Kanakadurga Temple, Priests Halt Sacred Ritual
Temple Milk Controversy: Worms Found in Vijayawada Ritual

A major controversy has erupted at the revered Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada after priests conducting worship rituals made a disturbing discovery. They alleged finding worms in the cow's milk that was intended for the sacred Sri Chakra Archana ritual performed for the main deity. The priests have strongly demanded an immediate halt to using what they termed as "spoiled milk" for the holy ceremony.

Disturbing Discovery During Morning Rituals

The incident came to light on Saturday morning. According to sources within the temple, the priests were preparing for the daily rituals when they noticed unusual particles floating inside one of the tetra packs of milk. This milk, supplied in tetra packs, is routinely used for temple worship. Upon closer inspection, some priests claimed that these particles were, in fact, worms.

The concerned priests did not waste any time. They immediately brought this serious matter to the attention of the temple's administrative authorities. A formal complaint was officially lodged with the temple's executive officer, Seena Nayak, highlighting the contamination and expressing their deep concern over the sanctity of the rituals.

Temple Authorities Launch Detailed Probe

Initial statements from officials suggested the problem was isolated to just one tetra pack from the entire consignment supplied to the temple. However, given the gravity of the allegations and the rising doubts about the overall quality and source of the milk, Executive Officer Seena Nayak ordered a comprehensive and detailed inquiry.

To ensure a thorough examination, a verification committee was promptly constituted. This committee is led by the temple's Stahana Acharya, Vishnubotla Sivaprasada Sharma, and includes several senior temple officials. The panel's mandate is to investigate every aspect of the incident, from the supply chain to the storage conditions.

Awaiting Findings and Ensuring Sanctity

The committee is expected to complete its investigation and submit its report shortly. The findings will be crucial in determining the exact cause of the contamination and in implementing measures to prevent any such occurrence in the future. The primary focus remains on upholding the highest standards of purity for all materials used in the temple's worship, ensuring the sanctity of rituals like the Sri Chakra Archana is never compromised.

This event has raised significant questions about quality control procedures for offerings at one of the region's most prominent temples. The community and devotees are awaiting a transparent resolution from the authorities.
