Cockroach Janta Party Demands Dharmendra Pradhan's Ouster Ahead of Cabinet Reshuffle
Cockroach Janta Party Seeks Pradhan's Ouster Before Reshuffle

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has intensified its demand for the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, positioning itself for action ahead of an anticipated cabinet reshuffle. The party, known for its satirical stance, claims Pradhan's policies have harmed the education sector.

CJP's Criticism and BJP's Response

This week, BJP president Nitin Nabin launched a sharp attack on the CJP, stating that 'these virus and cockroach parties can hollow out the country.' The remark underscores the BJP's dismissive attitude toward the fringe group, which has gained attention for its unconventional protests.

CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke, however, argues that the party represents genuine public discontent. 'We are not a joke; we are highlighting real issues in education policy,' Dipke said in a statement. The CJP has previously targeted Pradhan over delays in implementing the National Education Policy and alleged mismanagement of school exams.

Context of the Cabinet Reshuffle

The demand comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to reshuffle his cabinet in the coming weeks, with several ministries likely to see changes. Pradhan, who has held the education portfolio since 2021, faces criticism not only from the CJP but also from activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has led protests against education reforms in Ladakh.

Wangchuk, a prominent figure in the education debate, has called for a more inclusive policy that respects regional languages and cultures. The CJP has aligned with such voices, though its methods remain theatrical.

Impact and Future Action

While the CJP lacks electoral significance, its persistent agitation could influence public perception. Political analysts note that the party's stunts, including releasing cockroaches in government offices, have drawn media coverage but limited policy impact. Nevertheless, the party plans to escalate its campaign if Pradhan remains in the cabinet after the reshuffle.

'We will not back down until Pradhan is removed and education is depoliticized,' Dipke added. The BJP, however, appears unfazed, with Nabin's remarks reflecting confidence in the government's education record.
