India and Russia have issued a strong joint condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and the Red Fort in Delhi, calling for decisive action against those responsible. The two nations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening counter-terrorism cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral platforms, according to a statement released after high-level talks.

Joint Condemnation of Terror Attacks

During a meeting held in New Delhi, Indian and Russian officials expressed grave concern over the surge in terrorist activities. The Pahalgam attack, which targeted civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, and the Red Fort blast in the national capital were specifically cited as examples of cross-border terrorism that threaten regional stability. Both sides agreed that such acts demand a coordinated response.

Strengthening Bilateral Counter-Terrorism Ties

The two countries pledged to enhance intelligence sharing and joint exercises to combat terrorism. The statement highlighted their shared commitment to the UN Security Council's counter-terrorism resolutions and called for the early adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism. They stressed the importance of holding state sponsors of terrorism accountable and called for the extradition of fugitives involved in attacks.

According to the joint statement, both nations will continue to oppose any form of state support for terrorism and will strengthen legal frameworks to prosecute perpetrators. The meeting marks a significant step in aligning their approaches to global security challenges.
