The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a crucial advisory, strongly urging all Indian nationals currently residing in or visiting Iran to refrain from approaching any of the country's land border crossings for travel out of Iran without obtaining explicit prior coordination and guidance from the diplomatic mission. This advisory comes amidst heightened regional tensions and security concerns in the Middle East.
Strict Guidance on Border Movements
In an official statement, the embassy clearly advised, "Indian nationals are hereby advised not to approach any of the land borders of Iran for travel outside the country without prior coordination with the embassy." The mission emphasized that any movement towards these border points must be undertaken only after receiving specific and direct guidance from the Indian diplomatic officials in Tehran.
The embassy issued a significant caution, noting that it may not be in a position to extend consular assistance or support to individuals who have already exited Iranian territory but subsequently find themselves unable to enter the intended third country. "It may please be noted that the Embassy will not be in a position to extend assistance once individuals have exited Iranian territory and are unable to enter the third country concerned," the statement explicitly added.
