Owaisi Urges India to Push Pakistan Back to FATF Grey List

AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has urged the Narendra Modi-led NDA government to push for Pakistan's return to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list following India's elevation to the vice presidency of the global watchdog.

Reacting to the appointment of Vivek Aggarwal as FATF vice president, Owaisi said the government should use the opportunity to seek stronger action against Pakistan. He argued that the recent US designation of The Resistance Force (TRF) as a global terrorist outfit was not sufficient and called for a UN listing of the group. Owaisi also said India should pursue action against Pakistan's ISI.

FATF places countries on its grey list when they are under increased monitoring for deficiencies in tackling money laundering and terror financing.
