Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Wednesday, marking the final stop of his two-nation visit to France and Slovakia. He received a warm welcome from members of the Indian diaspora and highlighted the importance of the India-France partnership for global progress.

PM Modi arrived in the French capital from Évian-les-Bains, where he attended the G7 Summit as the leader of a guest nation. During his stay in Paris, he is scheduled to attend VivaTech 2026 alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and interact with members of the Indian community.

“I arrived in Paris just a short while ago, where I was warmly welcomed by the Indian diaspora. I am proud of their efforts to bring India and France closer together,” PM Modi said in a social media post. “The India-France partnership is essential to the progress of our planet,” he added.

Missile attack on Kyiv

Kyiv came under a missile attack in the early hours of Thursday, according to AFP. Following an air raid alert, journalists reported hearing a missile and two explosions, while residents were seen rushing towards shelters. Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, confirmed that the city was under missile attack but said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

NEET aspirant suicide in Tamil Nadu

Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest at the ESI Hospital premises in Coimbatore on Wednesday, demanding justice for Anu Keerthana, a NEET aspirant who allegedly died by suicide. The protesters said they would not accept her body until adequate relief is provided to her family and justice is ensured. Anu Keerthana was the daughter of Senthil Prabhu, president of the Coimbatore district TASMAC Employees’ Union. Her body was transferred from a private hospital to the ESI Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Central Park carriage accident

An 18-year-old died on Wednesday after falling from a horse-drawn carriage in New York City’s Central Park, authorities told AFP. According to New York police, the teenager sustained “serious injuries after falling from the carriage” and was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Drone incident near South Korea training camp

Mexican military forces intercepted and brought down a drone that flew near the South Korean national football team’s training camp ahead of its World Cup match against Mexico, a federal official told the Associated Press on Wednesday.
