Over 43,900 residents have utilised government services and welfare schemes through the Jan Kalyan Shivirs in the first two days of a three-day outreach programme, according to official figures. On Friday, June 20, more than 28,000 citizens visited the camps, marking a significant increase from the opening day.
Chief Minister Highlights Growing Trust
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the strong public response reflects growing confidence in the initiative, which aims to bring government services closer to citizens by providing access to multiple departments under one roof. The CM’s Office confirmed that 28,107 people attended the camps on the second day, compared with 15,866 on the opening day, bringing the total footfall to 43,973.
Services Accessed and Locations with Highest Turnout
Citizens used the camps to access welfare schemes, seek information about government services, and submit applications for grievance redressal. Trilokpuri recorded the highest turnout for the second consecutive day, with 1,349 visitors. Gokalpur followed closely with 1,335 attendees. Other centres with significant participation included Savitri Nagar (1,253), East Loni Road (1,246), Rajouri Garden (1,130), Najafgarh Stadium (1,121), and Vikaspuri (1,051).
Officials noted that citizens were able to apply for and receive assistance related to a wide range of services, including welfare schemes and grievance redressal. The programme is designed to simplify access to government services and ensure that residents can resolve their issues without visiting multiple offices.
Impact and Future Plans
The Jan Kalyan Shivirs are part of a broader effort by the Delhi government to enhance service delivery and transparency. The increasing footfall suggests that the initiative is gaining traction among residents, particularly in areas with high turnout like Trilokpuri and Gokalpur. The three-day camp is expected to conclude on Saturday, June 21, with officials anticipating continued participation.
