Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) in Lucknow has directed students of the 2025-26 academic session to verify and update their personal information on the university portal. This step is aimed at ensuring seamless delivery of degree certificates to their registered addresses.
Previous issues with degree dispatch
University officials revealed that degree certificates for students who completed their programmes in the previous session were dispatched via India Post's Speed Post service to the addresses provided by students. However, a considerable number of certificates were returned due to incomplete residential addresses and incorrect Hindi names submitted by students. Additionally, several certificates had to be reissued after students requested corrections in the spelling of their names.
New facility for updating details
To prevent such problems, AKTU has enabled a facility for students and affiliated institutions to update relevant details through their respective ERP logins. This allows students to correct their residential addresses and ensure their names are spelled correctly in both English and Hindi.
Upcoming convocation ceremony
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the university's 24th convocation ceremony, scheduled for July 7. An AKTU official stated, "We have a capacity of around 2,000 people for the convocation ceremony. Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible candidates are required to complete online registration and pay the prescribed fee. The last date for registration is June 28 till 5 pm."
Key takeaways for students
Students are advised to promptly log in to the AKTU portal and verify their personal details, including residential address and name spelling. Those eligible for the convocation should register online and pay the fee before the deadline to secure their participation.
