CM Sai Launches 333 Development Projects in Rajnandgaon

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai dedicated and laid foundation stones for 333 development works worth more than Rs 510 crore in Rajnandgaon district. The projects span infrastructure, water conservation, agriculture, and rural development, aiming to boost regional growth.

Rajnandgaon: A Model for Crop Diversification and Water Conservation

Addressing the gathering, CM Sai said Rajnandgaon is emerging as a model for crop diversification, water conservation, and farmer prosperity. He highlighted the state government's commitment to sustainable development, noting that these projects will enhance irrigation facilities and promote alternative crops.

According to the Chief Minister, the initiatives include check dams, ponds, and canal networks to improve water availability. Farmers will benefit from training programs and subsidies for diversifying into pulses, oilseeds, and horticulture.

Details of the Development Works

The 333 projects include 150 new check dams, 100 pond renovations, 50 canal extensions, 20 rural road upgrades, and 13 community building constructions. The total investment exceeds Rs 510 crore, with funding from state and central schemes.

Local officials stated that the projects will create thousands of jobs and benefit over 200 villages. The foundation stones were laid for 200 works, while 133 were dedicated to the public.

Impact on Farmers and Rural Economy

CM Sai emphasized that these works will reduce water scarcity, increase crop yields, and boost farmer incomes. He urged farmers to adopt modern techniques and join farmer producer organizations (FPOs) to access better markets.

"Our government is committed to doubling farmers' income by 2028," said CM Sai. "These projects will ensure every village has access to water for irrigation and drinking."

The event was attended by local MLAs, district officials, and thousands of residents. The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of ongoing schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana.
