Delhi's Healthcare Infrastructure Receives Major Boost with 51 New Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
In a significant development for public health services, the national capital witnessed the inauguration of 51 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs on Friday. This expansion brings the total number of these government-run neighborhood clinics in Delhi to an impressive 370.
Chief Minister Announces Ambitious Expansion Plans
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated all the new facilities from Fatehpur Beri village in south Delhi. During the ceremony, she revealed the government's ambitious target to establish over 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the city in the near future.
"Delhi government's priority is to ensure that every citizen has access to timely, affordable and easily available healthcare," Gupta stated. "The launch of 370 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Delhi within just one year is a testament to our government's speed and scale."
The Chief Minister emphasized that these clinics are transforming healthcare accessibility by bringing essential medical services directly to communities. "The people of Delhi are getting access to investigations, treatment and essential medicines right in their own areas," she noted in a social media post.
Comprehensive Healthcare Services at Doorstep
Ayushman Arogya Mandirs represent a comprehensive approach to community healthcare, offering residents:
- Free diagnostic tests and medicines
- Advanced diagnostic services
- Cancer screening programs
- Vaccination facilities
- Elderly care services
- Maternal and child care facilities
Each center provides an impressive 80 types of free diagnostic tests, making preventive healthcare more accessible than ever before.
Political Support and Vision for Healthcare
South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, who attended the inauguration event, highlighted how the new clinic in Fatehpur Beri would provide world-class health facilities to local residents. "Doctors, medicines and tests would be available for free," he emphasized.
Chief Minister Gupta articulated a fundamental shift in how her administration views healthcare investment. "Our government views healthcare not as an expense, but as an investment," she declared. "Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are not merely treatment centers; they are hubs of prevention, awareness and trust."
She added with conviction, "When the intent is clear and the resolve is strong, results follow swiftly."
Infrastructure Development Projects Launched Simultaneously
Alongside the healthcare expansion, Chief Minister Gupta launched development projects worth Rs 322 crore in the Chhatarpur area. These initiatives include:
- Construction and strengthening of roads
- Improvement of drainage systems
- Infrastructure upgrades to ease traffic congestion
- Development of schools
- Enhancement of public amenities
"This development will make the lives of local people easier and connect the area to new possibilities," Gupta explained about the comprehensive urban improvement plan.
Major Transportation Infrastructure Announced
The government has approved several significant transportation projects for the region, including:
- A double-decker flyover on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road at a cost of Rs 1,471 crore
- Four elevated road projects for Chhatarpur and nearby areas
Additionally, the Chhatarpur assembly constituency will benefit from three new schools as part of the educational infrastructure expansion.
The inauguration event saw participation from Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar and councillor Sunder Singh Tanwar, demonstrating broad political support for these development initiatives.
