Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Issues Directives for Government Officials to Enhance Public Service

In a significant move to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery, Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Snehal R has issued clear directives to all government officers and staff across the district. The instructions mandate that officials from the village to district levels must be present in their offices during regular working hours, except when engaged in essential field visits. This measure aims to ensure that citizens can access government services without unnecessary delays.

Prompt Response to Public Grievances Emphasized

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for officials to respond promptly to public grievances. These directions were formulated after Snehal R received multiple complaints from citizens during a visit to the tahsildar's office in Navalgund. Following this, she chaired a comprehensive review meeting with taluk-level officials on Wednesday to address the issues raised by the public.

  • Officers are required to address petitions and grievances at their own level whenever possible.
  • Matters should only be forwarded to higher authorities when absolutely necessary, to streamline the resolution process.
  • Officials must work with sensitivity and ensure that citizens are not subjected to any unnecessary inconvenience.

Focus on Agricultural Support and Public Amenities

During the review, the Deputy Commissioner also directed that Bengal gram and jowar procurement centers, which have been opened under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme in Navalgund taluk, function effectively. To assist farmers with registration and procurement procedures, she instructed that one village administrative officer be deputed from the tahsildar's office specifically for this purpose.

In addition to agricultural support, Snehal R ordered strict action against unauthorized liquor shops operating in the area. She also called upon local bodies to maintain cleanliness in public toilets, highlighting the importance of hygiene and public health.

Educational Initiatives and Student Encouragement

As part of her visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Government Model High School in Navalgund. Here, she reviewed preparations for the upcoming SSLC examinations and interacted with students. Snehal R encouraged the students to prepare confidently and aim for better academic results, underscoring the administration's commitment to educational excellence.

These comprehensive directives reflect a proactive approach by the Dharwad district administration to enhance governance, address public concerns, and support key sectors like agriculture and education.
