Hubballi Flyover Construction Under Strict Deadline After Official Inspection
In a significant development for Hubballi's infrastructure, Deputy Commissioner Snehal R conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing Chennamma Circle flyover construction work on Wednesday. She was accompanied by local MLA Mahesh Tenginakai during this crucial site visit aimed at assessing progress and addressing delays.
Six-Month Deadline with Serious Consequences
Speaking to reporters after the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Snehal R revealed that the flyover work is progressing, but emphasized that concrete plans have been established to complete all construction within the next six months. She issued a stern warning regarding the timeline, stating clearly that failure to meet this deadline would result in serious repercussions for the contractor involved.
"If the work is not completed in the next six months, action will be taken to blacklist the contractor," Snehal R declared unequivocally. This strong statement underscores the administration's determination to see this critical infrastructure project through to completion without further delays.
Addressing Multiple Construction Challenges
The deputy commissioner acknowledged that numerous problems have emerged during the construction work throughout the city. She stressed that resolving all these issues is essential before work can continue at full pace. Specifically, she mentioned that officials have committed to accelerating work simultaneously at both Hosur Circle and Chennamma Circle locations.
MLA Mahesh Tenginakai provided additional details about the construction progress, noting that the installation of four pillars at Hosur Circle is nearing completion. He highlighted that this work has been carried out with careful consideration for minimizing traffic disruptions, demonstrating a commitment to public convenience during the construction phase.
Overcoming Delays and Shifting Priorities
Tenginakai addressed the 2-3 month delay in flyover construction, explaining that the district's focus had temporarily shifted due to various chief minister's programs taking precedence. However, he emphasized that work continued in areas causing particular inconvenience to the public despite this shift in administrative attention.
The MLA revealed that construction on Gadag Road gained significant momentum after the relocation of a police station, creating more favorable conditions for accelerated work. A meeting with officials is scheduled for next week to discuss concrete steps for completing the flyover project at the earliest possible date.
Broader Urban Development Initiatives
Beyond the immediate flyover construction, Tenginakai outlined additional urban improvement plans. He stated that priority is being given to making Hubballi a dust-free city, with specific steps planned for constructing CC (cement concrete) roads as part of broader urban beautification and infrastructure enhancement efforts.
The combined inspection by both administrative and elected representatives signals strong governmental commitment to improving Hubballi's transportation infrastructure while balancing public convenience and urban development goals.
