Thiruvananthapuram: Following criticisms, the state government has postponed the interview scheduled for the selection of the candidate for the post of executive vice-president of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. The interview was originally scheduled for April 25.
Opposition Leader's Request
Opposition leader V D Satheesan requested the Chief Election Officer (CEO) to postpone the interview procedures. The official notification regarding this postponement was communicated to the applicants on Friday by the secretary of the interview committee, who is also the higher education secretary.
Reason for Postponement
Satheesan requested the CEO to defer the interview procedures, stating that it was not appropriate to conduct them while the election code of conduct was in effect. He argued that the interview should be postponed until the election process was complete. The Kerala State Planning Board had issued the notification for the appointment on March 2.
The decision comes amid ongoing election preparations, and the government has complied with the request to ensure adherence to the model code of conduct. The new date for the interview will be announced after the election process concludes.
