The Lucknow district administration has issued a stern warning to staff members who skip census training, threatening strict action including the lodging of a First Information Report (FIR) against them. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar conducted an inspection of a training center located in Zone-4, covering Gomti Nagar and adjacent areas, and instructed officials to ensure adequate arrangements for food and water for the trainees.
Administrative Measures Against Absenteeism
Officials have outlined a progressive disciplinary process for those who fail to attend the mandatory training sessions. Initially, absent employees will receive a formal notice. If they fail to respond or continue to remain absent, they may face suspension and ultimately an FIR will be registered against them. This escalation underscores the administration's commitment to ensuring full participation in the census training program.
High Absenteeism on April 24
On April 24, a significant number of employees were absent across multiple zones. Zone-3 reported the highest absenteeism with 248 missing staff, followed by Zone-4 with 156, Zone-5 with 24, Zone-7 with 82, and Zone-8 with 55 absentees. These figures highlight the scale of the problem and the need for stringent enforcement.
The municipal commissioner's visit to the training center aimed to assess the facilities and address any grievances. He emphasized the importance of the census and urged all staff to take the training seriously. The administration is determined to complete the census process efficiently and without further delays.
