Lucknow Regional Passport Office Announces Special Grievance Redressal Camp
LUCKNOW: In a significant move to enhance public service delivery, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Lucknow has announced the organization of a public grievance redressal camp. This special event is scheduled for February 21 and will be conducted simultaneously at all four Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) operating under its jurisdiction.
Camp Details and Accessibility
The camp will be held at the PSKs located in Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi. A key feature of this initiative is that passport applicants can visit their nearest PSK without requiring any prior appointment. This allows citizens to present their passport-related issues and concerns directly to the officials on site.
Shubham Singh, RPO Lucknow, emphasized the importance of preparedness for attendees. "Citizens are requested to carry all documents related to their application. Bringing the required documents will help ensure quick and effective resolution of their concerns," he stated. This step is crucial to streamline the process and avoid delays during the camp.
Performance Highlights and Achievements
While announcing the camp, RPO Shubham Singh also shared the office's performance report for the 2024–2025 period. The data reveals impressive achievements in passport and document issuance:
- In 2024, the office issued a total of 7,33,686 passports and 70,636 Police Clearance Certificates (PCC).
- In 2025, the numbers increased to 8,09,839 passports and 62,687 PCCs issued.
- Additionally, the office processed other important documents such as Apostilles, Global Entry Program approvals, and Surrender Certificates.
Citizen-Friendly Initiatives and Ongoing Programs
To further improve accessibility and service quality, the Regional Passport Office has implemented several citizen-friendly initiatives:
- Meet Your Officer Program: Every Wednesday, applicants have the opportunity to meet passport officers directly to discuss their issues.
- Passport Melas: These events are held in remote areas to deliver services to underserved communities. So far, they have covered 1,650 applications, spanning nearly 2,314 kilometers, and reaching multiple post offices and community centers.
- Monthly Grievance Redressal Camps: A regular camp is conducted on the last Saturday of each month, providing consistent support to applicants.
The upcoming camp on February 21 is part of these ongoing efforts to address public grievances efficiently and transparently. By offering direct access to officials and eliminating appointment barriers, the RPO Lucknow aims to resolve issues promptly and enhance overall citizen satisfaction with passport services in the region.
