MC Commissioner inspects Dhoka Mohalla and Field Ganj
Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Ojasvi Alankar conducted inspections at Dhoka Mohalla, Field Ganj, and adjoining areas on Saturday to assess cleanliness and monsoon preparedness. He was accompanied by Joint Commissioner Amanpreet Singh, SE Ranjit Singh, chief sanitation officer Ashwani Sahota, and other officials.
Dharampura drain covering project reviewed
During the inspections, Alankar reviewed the ongoing project to cover the Dharampura drain. He issued necessary directions to expedite the project and ensure adequate arrangements are in place before the onset of the monsoon in the city.
Focus on preventing waterlogging
Alankar stated that with the monsoon approaching, the MC's focus is on making adequate preparations to avoid waterlogging, especially in low-lying areas near Buddha Nullah. He noted that desilting of Buddha Nullah is progressing rapidly, and extensive projects are being undertaken to clean sewer lines across the city.
Mission Clean Punjab directives
On Mission Clean Punjab, the MC chief said all senior officials of the civic body have been directed to go to the field in their respective areas and assess the situation. He emphasized that feedback is regularly being taken from residents, and strict departmental action will be taken if any anomalies are found at the ground level regarding cleanliness.
