The Mahadayi-Prawah authority, under newly appointed chairman D S Chaskar, has scheduled its seventh meeting for June 29. The previous meeting took place in New Delhi.
Key Agenda Items
The meeting will focus on the detailed procedure for final clearance of new minor irrigation and drinking water projects. Additionally, the status of submission of salient features for all completed and ongoing major, medium, and minor irrigation schemes, including water supply within the Mhadei basin, will be reviewed by all party states.
Data Sharing and Recruitment
The authority member reiterated that all party states should share hydrometeorological and other water resources data for schemes and sites within the Mhadei basin. The agenda also includes updates on filling regular posts in the authority, approval of Recruitment Rules (RR) for non-statutory posts, a proposal to outsource non-statutory posts, and progress on setting up office accommodation for Mahadayi-Prawah at Porvorim, Goa.
