In a tragic incident on Saturday afternoon, the roof of an under-construction Hanuman temple collapsed in Yashwadi village, Parbhani district, Maharashtra, leaving five devotees dead and at least 17 others injured. Officials confirmed that one of the injured remains in critical condition.
Details of the Incident
The temple was crowded at the time of the collapse. Heavy Rajasthani pink stone slabs, which were supported by scaffolding, fell on the devotees, causing the casualties. The exact cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
Rescue Operations
Immediately after the incident, rescue operations were launched with five heavy machines and around 50 ambulances deployed at the site. The injured were rushed to Parbhani District Civil Hospital and other nearby medical facilities for treatment.
