MCG Launches Interactive GIS Map for Gurgaon

Gurgaon: Residents can now access detailed information about their locality with just a few clicks. The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) launched an interactive geographic information system (GIS) map on Friday, offering geographical and administrative details for any location within the municipal limits.

New Digital Platform Enhances Transparency

The map was introduced days after the civic body reorganized the city into eight zones. Available on the MCG website, this digital platform provides updated information on the new zones, aiming to improve transparency, strengthen governance, and make public services more efficient.

Using the interactive map, residents, councilors, and government officials can find ward numbers, zones, clusters, colony names, previous administrative divisions, and whether a colony is approved or unapproved. The platform also indicates if a location falls within the 900-meter area around the IAF ammunition depot.

Eliminating Administrative Confusion

An MCG official stated that the system is expected to eliminate confusion over administrative jurisdiction and improve coordination among departments. It will help quickly determine which department or unit is responsible for an issue in a particular area.

The GIS map will support grievance redressal, planning and execution of development works, sanitation management, property tax administration, and water delivery. MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said, “The civic body has invited feedback from officials and other stakeholders to further improve the platform and make it more citizen-friendly. This initiative is an important step towards better governance, faster decision-making, and more effective delivery of public services.”
