NTR Collector Promotes E-Mobility with Battery Cycle Ride

In a bid to promote energy conservation and reduce fuel consumption, NTR district collector Lakshmisha arrived at the collectorate on a battery-powered cycle on Saturday. Addressing officials and staff, he emphasized the need to encourage battery-operated cycles and e-bikes as viable alternatives to petrol and diesel vehicles.

Collector Advocates for Battery-Operated Vehicles

The collector stated that the administration is also exploring the use of battery-operated vehicles for official district tours. He noted that battery cycles and e-bikes are now available at prices affordable to middle-class families and can cover a distance of approximately 40 to 50 kilometers on a single charge. The riding experience, he added, is similar to that of an e-bike and is suitable for regular commuting within city limits.

Energy-Saving Initiative for Government Employees

Referring to rising fuel prices and pollution caused by conventional vehicles, the collector suggested that government employees should use battery-operated bikes and cycles every Friday as part of an energy-saving initiative. He asked officials to examine the possibility of gradually increasing the use of electric mobility in government offices.
